On February 4, 2017, from 2 p.m., VARENA, together with the Ladies Circle 12 Attersee, celebrated Carnival – wildly, nostalgically, light-heartedly and full of joy. After all: when in good mood, one can do good deeds.
The Carnival season is a party time. But the last few years in particular have showed us how important solidarity is in our society. The shopping center VARENA in Vöcklabruck, together with the Ladies Circle 12 Attersee, organized a cheerful party night for a good cause! All proceeds from the 80s Charity Disco were used, directly and without bureaucracy, for immediate emergency aid to families from the region.
The colorful hustle and bustle started at 2 p.m. with a flash mob, continued with dance workshops and culminated in two true highlights: a street artwork by the Linz artist “SHED” was raffled and then a mega raffle was prepared for the visitors. In addition to a raffle in which every ticket won a prize, the participants’ bodily welfare was taken care of, too, with typical dishes and drinks from the 1980s.
Doris Sermonet-Kopa (President of the Ladies Circle 12 Attersee) commented: “Doing good and collecting donations for our projects in the framework of funny events is part of our club’s philosophy. And it was simply wonderful that we were able to organize this party in cooperation with VARENA!”
Thomas Krötzl (VARENA Center Manager) explained: “VARENA is a part of the region. We know people who live here and come to our center almost every day to do their shopping and spend free time here. We consider it a natural duty to assume social responsibility and support various organizations as best as we can. For example, we have been a partner of the KinderVilla Steinbach am Attersee for a number of years.”
